Minimum wage should rise to no less than $15

Other states with high costs of living are raising their wages to $15 or more. Here in Hawaiʻi, however, House Democrats have passed only a $12.50 wage for all workers by 2024.

If Democrats want to stand with workers and for jobs with dignity, it’s imperative they give us at least the same wage protections that workers in other states enjoy.

We deserve at least $17, and so anything less than $15 is completely unacceptable.
